Transcript of GROUP 02 - COLOR WHEEL

WHAT IS A COLOUR WHEEL?The colour wheel is a chart representing the relationship between colours, it was designed by Sir Isaac Newton in 1666.Painters use it to identify colors to mix and designers use it to choose colours that go well together.Begin a color wheel by placing primary colours equidistant from one another, then create a bridge between primaries using secondary and tertiary colors.

The colours of the color wheel The colors included are

primary colors (red, yellow, and blue), secondary colors (orange, green, and violet), and tertiary colors (yellow green, blue green, blue violet, red violet, red orange, and yellow orange). Secondary colors are created by mixing primary colors and tertiary colors are created by mixing primary and secondary colors.

PRIMARY COLOURS OF THE COLOUR

WHEELIn theory, the Primary Colors are the root of every other colour. You have to think that the primary colours are the Parents in the family of colors..In paint , pure Yellow, pure Red, and pure Blue are the only colours that can’t be created by mixing any other colours together

TERTIARY COLOURS OF THE COLOUR WHEEL

When you mix a Primary and its nearest Secondary on the Basic Color Wheel you create six new mixtures called Tertiary colors. Think of the six Tertiary Colors as the Grandchildren in the family of colors, their DNA combines a Primary and Secondary color.

Yellow + Orange = YELLOW-ORANGE

Red + Orange = RED-ORANGE

Red + Violet = RED-VIOLET

Blue + Violet = BLUE-VIOLET

Blue + Green = BLUE-GREEN

Yellow + Green = YELLOW-GREEN
