records from about 650 observers• 25 plant species (23 native species, 2

Status and Availability of Ground Phenology Observations/Networks - Ireland

• 4 international phenological gardens with long-term data (>40 years) on a suite of trees

• 10 international phenological gardens with short-term data (>2 years) on trees

• 6 sites with 2 native species of trees (>2 years)

• Some citizen science data– School students– Nature Watch– Phenology trail

• Data not quality controlled

• Initiative started Fall 2011• Borrows software (Nature’s Notebook), protocols and

educational material from USA-NPN• Will rely on citizen scientists• Priority given to plants• Multi-institutional, supported through voluntary

contributions, no dedicated funding (yet!)• Expected to be operational Spring 2013• Coordinator:
