Attendance at the American Educational Research Association. Provided research assistance on a chapter of a book co-authored by an eminent researcher.

CITY OF ALAMO HEIGHTSProject Coordinator, Intern, San Antonio, Texas 2011 - 2012Managed a research project identifying city policies and best practices to utilize in city-wide master plan. Lead research project, administering a policy for a city of 7,500 residents and 2.1 square miles. Interviewed botanists, arborists, and reviewed architectural plans of sewer and drainage pipelines for tree planting locating appropriate spaces for tree mitigation purposes. Reported directly to the Director of Planning and Development.

♦ Project Coordination. Participated in discussions directly linked to the project, scheduled meetings with professionals in Community Development and external partners from the City of San Antonio, Boy Scouts and individual professionals working in the area of interest. Developed a Master Plan for neighborhood beautification efforts and saved a total of $3k in expenses in neighborhood planning.

♦ GIS Technology Utilization. Utilized Geographical Information System in creation of aerial maps including addresses to be used as a database in reference for tree planting opportunities toward neighborhood beautification.

METHODIST HOSPITAL Public Relations, Intern, San Antonio, Texas 2006Led public relations events for a major hospital, doctors, and healthcare professionals.

SAN ANTONIO FOOD BANKProgram Coordinator, San Antonio, Texas 2005 Marketed and managed a project increasing the effective and efficient operation of the Nutritional Education Program provided by the food bank for Boys and Girls Clubs and independent school districts.

♦ Program Development. Planned and developed a nutrition education program for community, schools, and church groups. Creation of such program justified additional incremental government funding for the Food Bank’s nutrition education services.

♦ Training, Course Development. Created and taught classes with the goal of decreasing diabetes in San Antonio through education.

♦ Strategic Planning. Attended weekly meetings with Directors and Heads of Departments of the food bank and contributed to strategic planning efforts.

JEWISH FAMILY & CHILDREN’S SERVICESProject Manager, San Antonio, Texas 2002 – 2003Managed and arranged legal guardianship for over 50 families. Applied for bonding on all guardians.

♦ Project Management, Process Improvement. Resolved backlog of over 50 pending guardianship cases, which had been dormant for several months. Improved processes to ensure more timely resolution moving forward.

♦ Liaison. Acted as court liaison, delivering appropriate documentation to probate courts and serving as liaison between JFCS and courts, facilitating and promoting proper care of incapacitated adults and their families.

♦ Project Management. Managed transfer of guardianship services to another agency and provided functional realignment resulting in a comprehensive plan for consolidation and transfer of all administrative functions.
