3rd party device support

Landis+Gyr's Gridstream software enables integration of 3rd party devices The device driver interface in

Gridstream AIM and HES systems enables easy development of new P2P meter support– The service will be piloted with selected

customers during 2014

Device Driver Concept

Device Gateway = interface in the system for the drivers

Device Driver = meter specific plug-in to the gateway

Drivers are implemented for each device type separately, whereas the gateway and services do not require changes – this allows faster and easier implementation of 3rd party meter support

Unleashed bandwidth

G3 PLC offers, when operated in FCC band, up to 10x the data bandwidth of any Cenelec A band PLC technology

Customer benefits: Such a massive increase of the data bandwidth

will enable many future use cases for smart metering and beyond

Other devices besides the meter (e.g. load switch, display, PV, PA) could be connected to the PLC network

Page 16: Gridstream Evolution

Communication robustness

G3 is designed to be in first priority reliable in harsh & challenging environments. It offers a robust fallback mode (ROBO mode) in difficult situations.

Customer benefits: High communication success rate

Immunity to field disturbances

Overall solution stability

Real time access to all devices
