The Settings file can be generated and edited with “GridEditor.exe”, which runs on Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Vista

Description of GridEditor.exe

To prepare a Settings file, please select each parameter of each of the magnifications (25x to 1000x). Specify a grid pattern, a color, a grid saving, option, a horizontal pitch, and a vertical pitch as described below: . ① Grid pattern ・Select a grid pattern from the seven types described in Chapter 1 “GridEditor

software”. ・When "None" is selected, other parameters become invalid and no grid is displayed

on the DG-3 screen. ② Color ・Select one of these seven colors (blue, red, purple, green, light blue, yellow, and

white). ③ Scale saving ・When "No" is selected, a grid only appears on the DG-3 screen and will not appear

on a saved picture. When "Yes" is selected, the grid will be saved. ④ Horizontal and vertical pitches ・The interval (pitch) of a scale can be set in the horizontal and vertical directions. ・The value of a vertical pitch is disregarded when the “Horizontal” grid is selected

in Although horizontal and vertical pitch values can be set from GridEditor, we recommend your setting these values from DG-3's CALB function because you can check the grid after each adjustment.

⑤ “File” menu There are 4 options ("New file", "Open", "Save as" and "Exit") from File menu. "New file" ... Create a new Settings file. (All parameters will be set to default.) "Open" ... Load an existing Settings file. "Save as" ... Save current Settings of GridEditor. (The extension of the Settings file is ".DG3".) "Exit" ... Exit this software. Exit only after you have “Saved” your settings or you will lose your choices. ⑥ “Read” and “Write” ・You may read and write a Settings file from/to the CF card. ・Specify the drive name where the CF card is installed and the folder where the

DG-3 images are saved.

By accessing the settings file on the CF card, you can select a new grid on the DG-3's screen. ① Switching of display pattern

By pressing the "SCALE" button, you can select a grid from 7 patterns you specified in the Settings file.

② Adjustment of scale width Hold down the “MENU” button when a grid is shown to enter the detailed setting mode. Then, by pressing the “”WB” or the “REC MODE” button, the scale width of each pattern can be separately adjusted. (CALB function of DG-3) CALB HORZ: Specify the pitch width in the horizontal direction by “+” or “-“. CALB VERT: Specify the pitch width in the vertical direction by “+” or “-“. This function is valid only when DG-3 is started with the CF card, in which a settings file was written.
