Computing: current state
Internet offering connections
Industry, offices and homes own their own facilities, with connection provided by the Internet
Recent Trends
• Currently web 2.0 is changing the way we browse the Internet
• Also SaaS (Software as a Service) services are increasing
• These new service trends requires huge processing and storage power as well as security and accounting which current Internet is not quit capable to provide
• There is a need to transform the Internet from a data transmission pipe into a vast platform for hosting a wide array of services available to the world's six billion inhabitants
Problems of Current Internet
• Spam e-mail or messages and worm attacks• Difficulties to update or use different patches
for the antivirus to communicate with globally distributed system
• Difficulties to use computational power and storage to support different online services
• Still facing bandwidth problem
Proposal
• Grid computing can be the future direction of current Internet
• Grid is an emerging global infrastructure that combines geographically distributed and heterogeneous computing capabilities into a single, powerful computing resource
• We will provide an architecture for future Internet using Grid

Grid Computing Vision
Grid service providerGrid offering services
In the future, third parties provide facilities (Grid service providers); users get access to services. Businesses can also offer services over the Grid, an extension to the electricity grid analogy.
Proposal (Cont’d)
• Sensor networks need to be attached in Future Internet
• But processing and storing huge sensor data is not possible within current Internet
• So we propose Grid-based Internet which can process and store huge sensor data efficiently for various ubiquitous next generation Internet services
