SHELL CORE PROCESS

This process is standard in most foundries and allows for the formation of awkward internal passages and undercut areas. We use this process to accommodate any designs which cannot be formed by using steel cores or loose pieces.

OTHER

Many other processes are applied to assure you of the part and quality you require. Internal Heat Treat capabilities, CNC machining, traditional machining, pressure testing along with checking fixtures, Poka-Yoke, and CMM measurements round out our range of capabilities.

To achieve this prestigious certification, we have maintained and lived up to the strict benchmarks in our industry. We are also certified with all of our major customers to the A+ level and/or preferred status. Plans are in place as we pursue QS9000 registration to better service our customers.

ASSURANCE, ACCURACY AND PRECISION

Through continual monitoring, testing, measuring and auditing, we can assure our customers defect-free products. Our methods ensure dimensional accuracy, metallurgical properties, fit

and function, SPC, process monitoring and detection of casting deficiencies. Each of our measurements is carried out using not only the traditional hand tools, gauges and

calipers, but also using computerized programs in our CMM. Coupled with accurate detailed process control plans, check sheets and our well-informed people, we maximize the quality levels to our customers.

Grenville Castings Limited has been perfecting our casting processes for more than 50 years. During that time, we have tried and proved many methods of producing and processing castings. We have developed several techniques:

L O W PRE SS URE M O L D IN G PR OCESS :

Since 1967, Grenville Castings Limited has been involved with the Low Pressure molding process. This computer controlled process produces consistent high-quality castings. The process delivers lower cost-per-part with yields as high as 99% of melted aluminum and reduced secondary processing as a result of minimal gating. Improvements to working conditions enhances operator awareness of the process and quality because they are not exposed to the traditional molten aluminum environment.

PE RM A N E NT M OLDING PROCESS:

Our expertise allows us to tailor each process for each specific requirement. In some instances, it is necessary to use Permanent Mold due to the configuration of the product. This process is valid being ideal for thin, flat parts with large surface areas, non-symmetrical parts, and parts with critical finish requirements.
