The Johns Hopkins Precursors Study is one of the oldest longitudinal studies in the world, following 1,337 former medical students since 1946 to identify psycho-bio-social characteristics that predict morbidity and mortality. It has been supported by NIA since 1988 and this submission had 4 specific aims; the UT-relevant aim was to evaluate the prospective relationship between explicit and implicit hostility and development of cardiovascular disease.
