MedicalMurray Background
When I was hired in 2003, I was an in-house engineering consultant. I worked on three types of projects: • Projects for MedicalMurray internally• Projects performed in-house for other clients• Projects that I was contracted for.
This was for customers across the telecommunications, medical, military, automotive, and consumer goods.
The following are examples of my efforts.

Example "Nanomolding" Injection Molding Machine.

Phil and Andy Leopold patented a way to injection mold really small items, about the size of a sesame seed. During the development
process, they discovered a fault in the design, which made the core difficult to clean. They used me to
develop a solution
In-House Project Background

Solution and resolution
Developed a design where instead of the core being 1 piece, the elements could be disassembled into different pieces. The different pieces could be placed into an autoclave and the plastic can be burned out. Making the core available for the next design. The design was completed in about a month.
The parts were completed and used sucessfully.

Arens Controls Shifter Bezel Background
In 1999, MedicalMurray received a contract to help develop a design for two types of bezels for their t-shifter and pushbutton shifters (the pushbutton shifter bezel is show aside). All that was given was
surfaces given by their customer.
![Page 9: Greg Beck Mechanical Engineer Examples](https://reader036.fdocuments.in/reader036/viewer/2022081401/55852cc7d8b42a3a308b49d5/html5/thumbnails/9.jpg)
Arens Controls Shifter Bezel Resolution
Using Solidworks, I reverse-engineered the bezel. I designed it to accommodate the mounts that the current bezels incorporated. The design was manufactured using polycarbonate. It went into production in 2000.

Combine Propulsion Handle Prototype
Arens Controls contracted me out, among other things to work on the propulsion handle. The design proposed is a
prototype designed in Solidworks. It incorporated their dome technology. It was designed to be overmolded (although this prototype looks like one piece, the actual CAD had the overmolded surfaces worked out)

Combine Propulsion Handle Prototype
ResolutionAdditionally (not shown) is a
rocker switch position, and push-button switch on the top. It also included the light guides, PCBs, etc. Twenty prototypes were created
and given to the customer for review. Contract ended after completion

Main project at Diehl: CLICs Project for MaytagMaytag enlisted Diehl Controls to develop a
digital control to merge up to 32 electro-mechanical control combinations across their Amana and Maytag washers and dryers. These were assembled in there Searcy, Arkansas and Herrin, Illinois plants.

CLICs actions• Managed relationship with Maytag. • Designed control PCB and mount (not
shown) • Modified sheetmetal front to allow Molex
LED membrane• Specified and worked with switch vendor• Worked with Maytag as it reached
production in 2005.

Example PCB Housing Designed 2005
Background: In this design, the electricals at Maytag and Diehl had designed the PCB, without general input from mechanical engineering initially. Due to several size constraints, only a "toast" housing was conceivable. The design required little to no fasteners to save cost.
The following was designed in Pro/E in approximately two months. The material chosen was polypropylene.

Motorola Projects Background
Worked on three control heads for the MotoTRBO radios and a remote speaker microphone. These were done from a concept markup from marketing and followed all the way to production. Production would be in Malaysia for the
radios and in Mexico for the RSM. Components were manufactured all over the
world.
