Green&Wild

The Green&Wild Association was born in June of 2010 out of a will to change the world starting from the community we live in, love of nature and respect for our fellowmen being the main features that define us as an organization. Our goal is to help our peers in need, to instill the education required in building respect for both human beings and the environment as well as to benefit from and promote the touristic poten-tial of our country on a national and international level.

We aim to implement projects and programs in fields like education, social assistance, support for people with disabilities, environment, tourism, art and sport.

Since September 2011, our association has had an office located at 28 Govora Street which serves as a place of business. Thanks to the gener-osity of Mrs. Renata Brumaru, the vice-president of AFA N-V, the new office is fully furnished and equipped. The general expenses (rent, utili-ties, office supplies, supplier services) are possible due to the financial support provided by the Green&Wild Association’s president.

Our website, www.green-and-wild.ro, is available to ensure transpar-ency and a better communication regarding our activities.

We also invite you to visit shop.green-and-wild.ro where we provide, through the Green&Wild Donation Shop, handmade accessories and decorations which we offer in exchange for small donations, the funds thus obtained being allotted to the association’s projects.

The administrative staff of the association is made up of president, vice-president, secretary, accountant, legal consultant, auditor, project co-ordinators, volunteer leader, IT and web administrator, HR manager, PR & event manager, social worker, psychologists, psychopedagogists, fundraisers and coordinators of various departments: the environmen-tal department, the mountain tourism department, the department for the support of people with disabilities, the non-formal education de-partment, the art out of nothing department, the painting and drawing department. All of these people work as volunteers.

Little DoraSocial action which consisted in raising and donating 2000 RON to a 5 year old girl who suffers from medulloblastoma (a highly malignant primary brain tumor that originates in the cer-ebellum or posterior fossa). The diagnosis is severe, but surgical ablation and radiotherapy can lead to prolonged remissions. Although Dora was operated on, undergoing radio and chemother-apy, the postoperative expenses are extremely high thus this amount of money is very useful for her family. The action was possible due to the financial support of CES (Com-plete Engineering Solutions).

The Green&Wild Day Center The program aims at the preven-tion of school dropout through personal development activities, education and social integration using non-formal methods. The program targets children from underprivileged backgrounds. The project seeks to help 20 primary school students by giving them the chance to develop and practice their talents together with qualified volunteer trainers and psychological counselors. The budget required for this program is 16 800 RON (4 000 EURO)/year, namely 70 RON (17 EURO)/month/child. The amount should cover the cost of educational materials, school sup-plies, teaching games for personal development, consumables, office supplies, stationary and protocol.

For You With All of Our HeartsThe program is meant to finan-cially help 30 families coming from underprivileged back-grounds. The aid consists of CARE packages given to the families on a monthly basis over the course of 1 year.Depending on the funds raised, we want to increase the number of beneficiaries. The necessary budget is 21 600 RON (5 150 EURO)/year, amount that ac-counts for giving one 60 RON (15 RUEO) worth CARE package/family/month over the course of 1 year.

I Can Do It Too This is a program which aims at the socio-professional integration of people with dis-abilities through guidance and professional training, active support in finding a job and psychological counseling. The annual budget necessary to carry out this program is 18 000 RON (1 950 EURO), an amount which covers the expenses of training materials, board games, consumables, of-fice supplies and stationary.

Help Me to Help OthersThe purpose of this program is the personal development and the social integration of people with disabilities. The budget for implementing this program is 12 000 RON (2 900 EURO)/year and it covers the expenses of the materials re-quired in the development of the abilities and talents of people with disabilities, games, consumables, office supplies, stationary. As part of this project, a number of pictures made out of puzzles were exhibited at the Tailors’ Bastion. A series of creative workshops were also organized in some day centers for people with special needs in Cluj Napoca. The exhibition and the workshops were possible due to the anony-mous benefactors, the active volunteers who brought part of the materials and to cutia.ro shop who brought most of the materi-als needed for the workshops.

The National Volunteering WeekAs part of the National Vol-unteer Week, Green & Wild participated in 3 actions:1. NVW stand - community service street stand 2. Calling Captain PlanetThrough this project, we intend to bring a positive change con-cerning the design and upgrading of public playgrounds, but also to raise awareness of the importance of safety and cleanliness of public spaces in general and of playgrounds in particular. We have identified a lack of environmental education in the Cluj Napoca community, a lack of initiative and action which leads to the alteration of the idea of a better future for the new generations. Thus we intend to address these issues by organizing the following actions:-lobbying local authorities-creating an online platform-organizing public awareness campaigns related to the negative effects of inappropriate behavior on the environment and also concerning the deplorable state of public playgrounds- educational seminars in 10 schools and 10 kindergardens as well as in the community, seminars which will promote methods of prevention and involvement-educational projections and debates on the topic of public play-grounds-building an eco friendly playground in a foster home-outdoor volunteering activities designed to help kids become more responsible by means of cleaning up actions and recycling workshops-drawing up a report with proposals of continuity and prevention for the local public authoritiesDepending on the results of this 6 month pilot project, we intend to develop and adapt it in order to implement it first in Mures county and then nationally.
