Levy later moved his expanded operations to Harrisville where his business continued to thrive. While he created a name for himself in manufacturing, Levy is also remem- bered for his philanthropic contributions to the people and village of Harrisville which are still evident today. Learn more about this remarkable figure at our screening with the producer and director, Kennenth Proudfoot. Proudfoot recently debuted his documentary at the Assembly Theatre in Harrisville. on Monday, January 9! 10 minute

sessions are available between 6 and 7 p.m.

thE middlEsDo you love dogs? Thursday, January 5 from 6-7 p.m. learn about dog training, while spending the evening with therapy dogs, Dublin and Finnegan, and their companion, Jo-Ann. Make some treats to share with them or to bring home to your own favorite four-legged friend! We will even have some treats for humans! Ages 9-12 may register.

Preschool on Wednesdays at 10:30 or 1:00 ages 3 ½ - 5 begins 1/18/17.Toddler on Fridays at 10:15 or 11:15, ages 2 ½ - 3 ½ begins on 1/20/17.

BooK discussion grouPThe Share – a - Story Book Discussion Group is for 4th /5th graders and their caregiver. We meet once a month during the school year to discuss the same book we have all read that is chosen by the children’s librarian. Our next meeting of the school year is on Wednesday January 18 from 4:00 – 5:00. Please call the children’s room for more information at 949-3630 x2. Come join in the discussion!

KindErgArtEn countdownChildren who will be entering Kindergarten this fall are invited to a special series of story times at the library! We will be counting down to Kindergarten with stories, songs, and activities. The first story time, in this series, will take place on Wednesday, January 25 at 6:30 PM. Registration, which begins January 3, may be done at the children’s desk or by phone at 949-3630 ext 2.

crEAtivE cornErChildren are invited to drop-in and get creative on Saturday, January 7 and 21. On these Saturdays, from noon to 4 pm, children can show their creativity by using fun materials to make an original piece of art!

Baker AfterSchool Center Need a place to go any afternoon after school? Everyone in grade 6-12 is welcome. The hours are from 2:00-5:30 on Mon-Thurs and 2:00-5:00 on Fri. It is located in the Baker Room which is on the lower level of the library. There you will find computers, tables to use for homework or group projects and a librarian to assist you.
