These cold frames can withstand heavier snow loads as a result of the purlin being connected to the bow using a cross connector system, as opposed to drilling and bolting a purlin to the bow. Low Tunnels

Need a high tunnel but do not have the space or money to put one up? Consider a low tunnel that is 40" wide and 48" high. It has all the same benefi ts of growing in a high tunnel, but on a smaller scale. You pick your length and we can put a kit together for you. Comes with ground stakes, 1/2" galvanized hoops, 4-year 6 mil. plastic or a 1 year 2+mil. plastic and rubber cords w/hooks. With this unique low tunnel, if it is a warm day, you can go along and lift up the sides just like a high tunnel. Can also use row cover for frost protection or bird netting for pest protection. Consider adding an irrigation system to your low tunnel with overhead irrigation or use drip tape.

Double Aluminum Base Double wirelock base is used above the roll up sides to fasten the main plastic to the top channel and the roll up curtain plastic to the bottom channel. In the event you have to replace the curtain plastic without loosening up your main plastic.

These cross connectors connect a purlin pipe to the main bow without having to drill a hole in the bow. Bolts and nuts included

This rope hook is clipped into the top wirelock base on top of the roll up side. The rope is then run through the hook down to a eye screw then back up to the hook alternating every other bow. This keeps the curtain from fl opping in the wind.

Zigzag wire is used in combination with the wirelock poly fastener, Universal Spring Lock or the double aluminum base. The plastic is pulled over the aluminum extrusion then the zigzag wire is "sewn" into the channel to secure the plastic.

Ken-Bar’s poly convection tubing is available in either 4 or 6 Mil weight. The polyethylene is clear and is protected with a strong ultraviolet inhibitor. The formulation of the plastic is designed for maximum light penetration and for durability in a greenhouse environment. There are several advantages to using Ken-Bar tubing:

Guarantee. Each tube is guaranteed to support the cubic feet/minute output of the fan. If there is a problem, the tubing will be replaced immediately. The 4-mil tubing is guaranteed for 1 year and the 6-mil for 3 years.

Custom Punching. Ken-Bar provides proper diameter holes and spacing that conform to fan manufacturer’s specifi cations. A properly designed tube will make full use of the fan’s output by distributing air evenly down the length of the greenhouse. We can custom design a tube based on your greenhouse length and fan diameter. Punch position can be varied as shown below to provide the best possible air fl ow for each situation.

Coconut CoirCoconut Coir is a 100% natural by-product of harvesting coconut. Coir consists of the coarse fibers extracted from the husk on the outer shell of a coconut. Because of its superior water holding capacity, excellent air space and drainage, coir is a useful soil amendment for potted plants, containers and gardens. Coir’s neutral pH of 5.8–6.8 allows it to efficiently release nutrients to plant roots and reduces the need to use dolomite lime in the garden. Add water and soak your brick for at least 1 hour before using it. A fully-hydrated brick can hold eight to ten times its volume in water.

Hi-Cal Special 15-0-15PLUS is a plug growing formula with high nitrate nitrogen, calcium, magnesium, and minor elements, all combined into a totally soluble mix. The trace elements are delicately balanced at levels that have proven to perform well. This formula will work well when phosphate is not a problem or is being supplied separately. Although designed for plug growing, this formula will work equally well on any crop that may be sensitive to ammoniacal nitrogen during low light periods. Test nutrient levels in both water and growing media prior to use. Suggested use on a constant feed basis is at 100 PPM nitrogen or on intermittent feed basis 200 PPM nitrogen. Use growth results and nutritional monitoring to adjust this rate.

The Dramm Mini Autofog is an easy to use, low volume chemical applicator designed with smaller greenhouses in mind. The MLVH can treat 5,000 sq.ft. automatically without an operator present. It can easily apply a wide variety of chemical formulations using a highly concentrated spray solution. A specially designed nozzle generates billions of micro-particles (0.05 - 10.0 microns) that fill the entire treatment area with active chemical. These tiny particles ensure complete and even coverage of all plant surfaces. This “low-volume” method of applying chemical solutions eliminates costly run-off and reduces the amount of chemical needed.
