Aim High Page 1 PRINCIPAL’S REPORT Thank you to the parents who were able to come along to our Educaon Week celebraons last week. It was great to see so many families sharing the great things we do at Green Valley Public School with their children. The theme for Educaon Week this year was I Learn, We Learn. We had a wonderful assembly led by 2C and 4NT celebrang the wonderful learning at GVPS. Just a reminder that this Wednesday morning is our P&C meeng. All parents are encouraged to aend these meengs and be part of the decision making that shapes our school. Well done to all students for your outstanding behaviour at our school athlecs carnival. The carnival was a great success with everyone trying their best and having fun. Congratulaons to the winners on the day and thank you to our parents who supported us on the day. If you have a child who turns 5 before 1st August 2018, they are eligible to start Kindergarten next year. Please see the office for details. All applicaons for enrolment for 2018 need to be submied before the end of this term so we can determine how many non-local enrolments we can accept for 2018. They need to bring a towel, school hat and underwear labelled in a bag to the pool. Students will be given the opportunity to change back into their school uniforms at the pool following the lesson. Please ensure all your child’s belongings are labelled with their full name. FIELD OF MARS EXCURSION Who: Years 1 & 2 Where: Field of Mars Reserve, Gladesville When: Monday 4th September Time: 8.55am - 2.55pm Cost: $30.00 (payment is not refundable) All notes and payments to the school office by 21st August. TARONGA ZOO EXCURSION Who: Kindergarten Where: Taronga Zoo, Mosman When: Thursday 14th September Time: Depart 8.30am and return approximately 3.30pm. Cost: $35.00 Please note that there will be no refunds. All notes and payments to the office by Friday 8th September. EARN AND LEARN The Earn & Learn program gives our school the chance to earn amazing school resources. All parents have to do is shop at Woolworths, collect the sckers (1 scker for every $10 spent), complete a scker sheet and drop into the collecon box at the front office. VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTIONS $40 for one student $60 per Family Payments can be made any morning at the front office.

hall, followed by Open Classrooms. A Cake & Coffee stall was
run by our Stage 3 students during our family picnic lunch.
