GREEN TEAMS - OBJECTIVES
Objectives
•Reduce energy, waste, water and/or materials
•Reduce operating costs and improve efficiencies
•Educate, empower and engage employees around corporate sustainability goals
•Continue to build upon our culture of sustainability

GREEN TEAMS - FORMAT
Format and Leadership
•Employee volunteers - approval from managers
•Meet monthly, site specific and bi-annually with other teams via webinar
•Appoint leaders using a basic governance structure:
• Chair• Vice Chair• Secretary
•Receive executive and sustainability team support
•Future: Funding provided through corporate sustainability budget in support of projects

GREEN TEAMS - CHALLENGES
• Joint or separate team meetings for office and production
• Combined at first for overall GT structure/governance alignment
• Differing project opportunities – when/how best to split
• Enough volunteers to lead if split in two
• Busy schedules, already plenty to do
• Time constraints, priority to “day job”
• Tough for employees to commit to more tasks
• Incorporate into annual personal goals to gain support and recognition for work, easier to carve out time for GT contributions
• Maintaining and growing membership
• Keeping it fresh and interesting – seeing results, improvements

GREEN TEAMS - OPPORTUNITIES
• Green Team members act as sustainability ambassadors – on the ground
• Promote and support LEED for Building Operations and Maintenance (O+M)
• Advocate for optimum occupancy behavior – key to energy and waste reductions in buildings
• Help promote new initiatives
• Be a positive voice in their sphere, educate and encourage co-workers for support
• Composting / revamped recycling centers
• Corporate sustainability goals

• Collaborative support from friends like Wells Fargo GT and EarthShare
• WeSpire – social software platform inspiring employees to make sustainable choices
