GREED, WHEELING AND DEALING POINT TO NEED FOR TEACHING ETHICS

Greed and power grabbing on Wall Street, the Iran-Contra deals, post-explosion space shuttle maneuvering and Baby Doe are but a few of the dilemmas involving ethics among decision-makers. Responding to that, the Connnitteee on Learning Resources and the IUPUI Faculty Council have set an invitation-only seminar, "Teaching Ethics: A Multi-Disciplinary Symposium" on Mar. 27, 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Bus/SPEA 4095. EDUCATION CREATING PROGRAM FOR SCHOOL PRINCIPALS

Studies show that good, strong school principals make good strong schools for teachers and students. To that end, the School of Education at IUPUI is creating an Aspiring Principal Leadership Program, which should help compensate for an expected decline in local and national school leadership over the next five years. The successful applicant for a full-time position in the school's Dept. of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies will coordinate the program, teach and will lead teams of faculty and practitioners in the skill training and guidance of people aspiring to be principals.
