West Bedford Master Stormwater Management Plan

• Promote evapotranspiration from trees and natural ground cover

• Increased Green Space minimizes the disturbed acreage that will require fertilizer.

• Preserved natural green space promotes groundwater recharge and allows the preservation of native vegetation.

• Non-disturbance preserved natural drainage corridors on watercourses.

• Direction of roof leader discharge to vegetated areas rather than street.

• Rain Barrels provided to each resident for first flush storm water collection and lawn care irrigation.

• A restrictive covenant requiring homebuilders to place 8” of topsoil in front yards and 6” in rear yards.

• Jacques Whitford to give recommendation on topsoil chemistry to maximize phosphorus removal

• Home Owners guide to Best Management Practices on Low Impact lawn care maintenance

• WBHL in addition to street trees to require home owners on lots ≤ 40’ wide to plant one (1) shade tree in front yard. For lots ≥ 50’ wide two (2) shade trees must be planted.
