GEC’s Annual Report
• GEC stakeholders desire increased transparency
• GEC desires a user friendly and public mechanism to highlight its mission, share its accomplishments, and report its financials
• The UN Global Compact requires all NGO signatories to submit a report on activities that support the SDGs called the Communications on Engagement (COE)
Meeting stakeholders, GECs and UNGC needs!
In July 2018, GEC will issue the first combined GEC COE and Annual Report.

The GEC “Green Team” set out to answer the following:
1) Help GEC understand how its projects and programs align with the SDG targets and indicators
– How do current GEC projects and programs support the SDGs, and organizations that want to support the SDGs?
2) Integrate SDG materiality analysis results with GEC Annual Report content
– How do we determine materiality of alignments between SDG targets and indicators and GEC’s work?

What is the GEC Purchaser Guide Series?
• Guidance for public and private institutional purchasers
• Addresses purchasers desire to put their procurement spend behind sustainable IT products based on aspects not covered by EPEAT ecolabel
• Addresses frustration felt by both purchasers and IT companies:
– Purchaser uncertain on what questions and supporting documentation they should ask for from their suppliers
– Producers receive confusing and duplicative surveys and questionnaires from purchasers

GEC Purchaser Guide Addressing Labor & Human Rights Impacts• Identifies institutional purchasers’ expectations of
how IT companies are addressing labor and human rights impacts in their supply chains
• Provides procurement questions with examples of baseline and best practice performance– Baseline expectations = what companies are currently

– Best practices = what companies can and should be doing
• Describes supporting documentation purchasers can expect– Supporting documentation is specific, credible and can be
reasonably provided by IT companies

GEC assuming responsibility of building out benefits calculator for new EPEAT Product categories.
• GEC will establish a technical review panel of experts to review the background data developed by the contractor.
• GEC will undertake an annual review of the background data and update it as needed.
• Every three years GEC will establish a technical review panel to assess the technical merits of the benefits calculator.
