Green Day at Riverside Special School, East Riding of Yorkshire

Riverside Special School caters for pupils between 5 and 16 years old with moderate learning difficulties and complex needs. The whole school took part in Green Day which ran in early June.

The school had two focuses for their Green Day: firstly to allow the pupils to experience a variety of energy saving activities and secondly to learn how to make the school grounds greener.

“We invited the Waste and Recycling Officer into

school to help run the activities. Green Day was a

great experience for all pupils to participate in fun

activities whilst gaining an understanding of what

they can do to help our environment.”
