Brisbane Streetscape Design guidelines Street Tree Planting Significant subtropical street tree planting is to be undertaken as part of any footway upgrade….

Street tree planting will provide increased shade, legibility of routes, softening of the urban landscape and add colour and visual interest.

These guidelines will contribute to achieving the Living in Brisbane 2026 Vision, to increase the number of street trees in the city, to provide 50% shade cover to footways and complement Council’s Neighbourhood Shadeways Initiative.
