Greece is a country blessed with 16.000 km of coast-line and more than 420 islands. Her idyllic climate and friendly seas make this country an ideal destination for yachting and water sports of all kinds.

The Greek Marinas Association (G.M.A.) was established in 2010 in order to represent, upgrade and promote the tourist ports and marina facilities throughout the country. GMA membership includes 77% of the total regional berthing capacity, having as members both public and private, well organized marinas that focus on Quality, Safety and customer satisfaction. GMA’s main mission is the change and improvement of the national context of development, operation and exploitation of tourist ports.

Greek marinas are the essential infrastructure for the yachting networks and the key factor for Sea Tourism development in Greece.

This leaflet is a guide of the GMA membership. It is divided in geographical sections with basic information about each marina.

Gouvia Marina

Gouvia Marina the first privately owned marina in Greece, is situated at the island of Corfu, about 6 kilometres from the town of Corfu and 7 kilometres from the International Airport. The Marina is fully organised, offering facilities and services of high standards. The total capacity is 1235 berths, on both permanent and floating pontoons, while there are dry dock facilities for approximately 520 boats. Moorings are available for boats up to 80 meters long and with 5.5 meters draught. The marina offers a full range of technical boat services. There are a 65-ton travelift, a 45-ton and a 20-ton mobile automatic cranes to facilitate the manœuvre of boats in and out of the water. In addition a smaller 5-ton crane and a boat transporter are available. The marina is awarded with the BLUE FLAG every year since 2007.

Lefkas Marina is situated on the eastern side of Lefkas island, literally embraced by the town and right beside the main harbour of the island.

The total capacity is 620 yachts of up to 45 meters in length and 4 meters draught. Moreover, there are dry docking facilities for approximately 280 boats.

The marina offers a full range of technical boat services. There are dry dock facilities for about 280 boats, while a 150-ton travelift, a 70-ton travelift and a 60-ton mobile crane facilitate the manoeuvre of boats in and out of water.

The marina is awarded with the BLUE FLAG every year since 2007.

The marina is located at the Aktion peninsula, in the heart of the Ionian, just 1.5 km to Aktion airport and very close to the city of Preveza and the island of Lefkada, and offers all services and facilities necessary for those boarding the boats.

The marina has a mooring capacity of 100 boats of length up to 30 m. It is noteworthy that the marina can host boats of draught ranging up to 8 m. The mooring contracts can be daily, monthly or annual.

The marina covers an area of 80,000 m² offering full dry docking services to 1.000 boats. It is Greece’s largest dry docking unit. Hoisting and launching is done with two travel lifts (lifting capacity of 50 and 300 tons). A 30 tons trailer is used for handling smaller boats.

Kalamata Marina

Kalamata marina is situated in Peloponnesus in Kalamata city on the west of Kalamata harbour in the Messinian Gulf, and is considered by many to be the ideal location to take refuge and rest as it is the passage from the Mediterranean and the Ionian Sea to the Aegean Sea.

Kalamata is a modern marina which has a capacity to accommodate 250 yachts with a maximum length of 25m. and 3m. draught. All berths are equipped with electricity and potable water.There are dry docking facilities for about 150 boats, with a 60-ton travelift to facilitate the manœu-vre of boats in and out of the water. The marina offers a full range of technical services covering a wide range of maintenance and repair works.

Messolonghi Marina is situated in the South-West of the mainland and is the only lagoon marina in Europe. The sacred town of Messolonghi is famous for its history, the preserved lagoon area, its fish and the natural mud and salt spas.

The scenic 3km canal gives access to the deep water, very sheltered marina.Due to its strategic location between the Ionian and Aegean cruising area, the marina is the ideal home base for private yachts.

After finishing the marina capacity will be 400 mooring places and 800 places on land.

Leros Marina, Evros S.A. was established in 1989, when the rocky land overlooking beautiful Lakki harbor was acquired. From this private land a new yacht harbor has been created opposite the main port of Lakki. It was the first Marina and storage ashore in South East Aegean Greek waters. Leros is one of the Dodecanese islands, a wonderful cruising destination for yachts.

The Marina comprises 45.000 m2 of hard standing, backed by a 50 m cliff that provides shelter from the occasionally fierce local winds, such as the Sirocco (SE wind, in Greek “Evros”).There is an extensive curved harbor wall, providing complete shelter for the boats afloat.
