Greece Plus May 1931, 2014 A full week of sailing + 3 days guided inland tour +2 extra nights in Athens Sail the waters of the ancient gods, to the Sanctuary of Poseidon, to villages bathed in history and culture. Admire the architecture, get lost strolling the narrow winding streets, discover a centuries old treasure. Indulge in decadent local bakeries in the morning, fresh seafood bought from the fisherman for lunch, and great restaurants for dinner, where menus are optional, as you wander back into the kitchen to take a look at what's cooking, and simply choose what you like. Maybe a nice coffee later in the evening, relaxing outdoors at a table just steps from your yacht, or perhaps visit a taverna and enjoy some music and dancing. It's all possible in Greece, and we'll be visiting and sailing some of the best parts, at an ideal time of the year. Late May is warm and pleasant with nice breezes, and before the crazy summer crowds and strong winds that can prevent you from leaving the harbor for days. We'll fly nonstop from New York to Athens, and embark on a 3day tour of inland areas we can't get to by boat, including the Meteora monasteries, and Delphi, home of the Oracle, enjoying nights at 4star hotels in Kalambaka and Delphi. We'll then return to Athens, and have 2 more nights in a hotel, with free time to explore the Acropolis, the Parthenon, the Temple of Hephaestus, the National Archeological Museum, Olympic Stadium, or whatever else calls to you. We'll then head to the marina to board our waiting yachts, and enjoy a full week of sailing amongst the islands of Aegean, some of the most beautiful places in all the Med. One day might have you sailing to Aegina, the island of octopus and pistachios, where you can medmoor to the wharf and choose from a dozen cafes along the waterfront, or maybe just some fresh octopus off the fisherman's grill. Another day might have you in Poros, where the town is built on a rocky slope, and the approach is one of the most beautiful in Greece. Good swimming, ancient ruins, great night life, wonderful tavernas, good markets with lots of fresh fruit and veggies, and bakeries with the kind of breads you only dream of.

nice  taverna  at  the  base  of  the  lava  flow  is  a  favorite  spot,  or

your style.

Other  possibilities  include  Epidavros,  near  one  of  the  best

and Kea, at the western edge of  the Cyclades. No matter where

you  go,  you  are  sure  to  enjoy  the  fantastic  scenery  and

architecture, and the warm hospitality that only Greece can offer.
