Thank you to Dow Texas Operations and allof the 2018 Chili Cook-Off cookers,volunteers, and donors! This year was ahuge success with over 40 teams competingto be the Chili Champions!

cooking fajitas, sausages, pico, queso, and had lots ofgames such as: Chuck-a-Duck, Dino Dig, Putt Putt Golf,Giant Jenga, Corn Hole, and Cake Walk along with araffle for fabulous prizes. Their fun resulted in morethan $3,000 raised from the event, and exceeded theiremployee goal!

The group of volunteers she recruited were so creativeand worked tirelessly even coming off a shutdown. Theevent was so fun and successful no one wanted it toend. A big THANK YOU to Deborah, her group ofvolunteers, and the generous lyondellbasell employees!

We had 29 teams make it to the Final Roundheld at the Dow Diamond Center, and morethan $1,600 was raised for our community,which will power programs to help those inneed.

Every year, UWBC facilitates the VolunteerIncome Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. We'reissuing an official Call to Action for VITAVolunteers. We're looking for dedicated taxpreparation volunteers to give their own timeto ensure those with limited incomes are ableto complete tax returns in a timely fashion.Basic tax training and certification will beprovided.

No prior tax preparation experience isnecessary, just a desire to learn andwillingness to share your time and skills. youwill receive complete training on everythingyou need to know with VITA instructor, KarenSimon of Dow.
