Australia’s.first.steam.hauled.passenger.journeys.began.in.1854 ..Before.motor.and.air.transport,.rail.provided.the.main.form.of.transportation.for.moving.people.and.goods.quickly.and.efficiently.between.towns.and.cities ..
Today.the.growth.of.Australia’s.rail.network.continues.to.play.a.major.role.in.our.nation’s.development ..For.the.first.time.in.our.nation’s.history,.railways.now.span.the.continent.from.east.to.west,.and.north.to.south .
