Background

Monitoring cleanser

concentration in a

degreasing bath

can be indicated by

Phenolphthalein-alkalinity

(P-alkalinity) titration.

4

Objective

This research focuses on estimation of

P-alkalinity value represented the

concentration of the cleanser solution in

the degreasing bath by using parameters

which are measurable with standard tools.

Partial Least Squares Regression

In this case, P-Alkalinity was estimated from 3

following independent variables

– Electro Conductivity (EC)

– Density (D)

– Temperature (T)

The maximum degree is 3 from suitable model and

correlation level.10

Therefore, the developed PLS models are

applicable to be used with the consideration of

specific cleansers: in this work, UniPrep®SP1

alkaline degreaser and UniPrep®BioActivator.

Why the P-Alkalinity titration employed to monitor the degreasing bath?

16

P-Alkalinity titration is a

technique that recommended by

detergent provider to monitor the

degreasing bath.

Electro Conductivity

17

Conductivity has been employed

because the components of commercial

cleanser (alkaline surfactant) contain

ions. Conductivity measuring was

performed with the same simulations of

degreasing bath as alkaline titration
