Copper Joint Lead Free has been developed as an answer to theenvironmentalrestrictions and exposure concerns associated with the use of leadand zinc drillcollar/tool joint thread compounds. It contains copper flake combinedwith a proprietaryblend of amorphous and synthetic graphites in a high qualitylubricating base grease. Inaddition to the galling and seizing protection provided by the solids, italso contains asoluble extreme pressure package that is surface active (adheres tometal surfaces)and helps to provide the load carrying capability required by the highbearing stressespresent in rotary shouldered connections. Copper Joint Lead Free hasa torquecorrection factor of 1.1 (10% additional torque required) which willprovide additionalresistance to down-hole make-up as compared to lead or zinccompounds. It applieseasily in a wide range of temperatures and conditions, is resistant to

wash-out and willnot harden or bleed excessively in storage.
