Museum Information Recovery Assistance (MIRA) is dedicated to preserving
archival information in post disaster situations. MIRA also offers disaster
preparedness workshops and archival registration consultations to museums
of all sizes.
These graphic standards are designed to be used in all professional
correspondence, to promote the MIRA brand. This includes letterhead,
business cards, envelopes, promotional material and any item created by
MIRA staff designed for public viewing.
Mission Statement:
Our mission is to offer administrative support to existing cultural institutions
in need that have been affected by natural disaster. We achieve this by
helping to rebuild and fortify the institutions’ archival recordkeeping for the
benefit of the global community.
Core Values:
To help museums, archives and cultural institutions affected by natural
disaster or a catastrophic event document and inventory collections.
Assist with the development and strengthening of sound registration
practices in affected cultural institutions.
Prevent the loss of important collection and accession information in
affected institutions.
Provide technical support with imaging, database management, and
registration needs.
Facilitate the connection of researchers to cultural institutions in need of
further assistance.
Our efforts will prepare cultural institutions for web digitization of
collections when appropriate.
Introduction

The primary MIRA logo is inspired by a compass rose,
and its badge like appearance has been designed to
be easily recognizable in highly disorganized disaster
situations. As MIRA’s business is archival organization,
symmetry in the logo and the red spot color are utilized to inspire confidence
and present a professional organized brand. The font must remain Bell MT
and the color must be C=15 M=100 Y=90 K=10. The MIRA logo should be
used on all external communication.
