HELLO, TYPOGRAPHY! Hello, Typography is a series to introduce children to the world
of design and typography. Kit includes a book, flash cards, and a
plush character featured in the series.
Hello, Typography was the first project that sparked my interest
in design for children.
DESIGN STUDIO Design Studio was an elective class available through CFC Summer
School; a program who’s goal was to enrich the community of Champaign
Urbana. The main aim of the class was to challenge students to be creative
through story-telling and production.
Each student created their own series that included a storybook, trading
cards, and a character realized in plush form.
kusamaKusama is a modern painter that is famous for her polka dots.
Using Kusama, I introduced pre-schoolers (ages 1-4) to the world of
modern art, pattern, and shape. Brief art history was explained by
using images and a Kusama puppet. The final project was inspired
by one of Kusama’s installation pieces, where she enveloped a space
completely with polka dots. Our students did the same on contact paper
with a myraid of paper dots.

ONE IN LOVEOIL is a conference that is held annually in the midwest.
The concept for 2013 was “Freedom Generation”. To communicate
the idea of freedom, I decided to use a handmade treatment for the
identity and print materials.
HOW TO SURVIVEHow to Survive is a show to welcome the incoming freshman class
to UIUC. The aim was to communicate friendliness, fun, and energy
in the promotional materials for HTS.
