• 101,000T of graphite consumed in batteries in 2014 - mainly in lithium-ions batteries ~70% synthetic graphite and 30% natural flake graphite – depends on cost and purity
• Batteries require >99.95% C; lithium-ion require higher purity 99.99% C. Impurities should be limited to 100-200ppm.
