ANNOUNCEMENTS
Prophecy Unsealed Begins Tonight!
The exciting evangelistic series Prophecy Unsealed begins tonight here in
the sanctuary! Pastor Brian McMahon will unpack and explain the meaning
of many prophetic symbols found in the Bible. He will answer questions
about life after death, the truth about the rapture, the role of the United States
in Bible prophecy, and many more. Tonight’s opening program is entitled
“Unlocking Revelation’s Mysteries” and a special program is planned for
children ages 5-12. Meetings will begin at 7:00 PM. Bring your friends and
we’ll see you here!
Regular Prayer Meeting and Bible Studies
The following regularly scheduled meetings have been canceled for the next
four weeks due to the Prophecy Unsealed seminar: Tuesday Small Group
Bible Study at 4:00 PM, Tuesday Women’s Bible Study Group at 5:00 PM,
Wednesday Chronological Study of the Gospels at 4:00 PM, Wednesday
Prayer Meeting at 6:30 PM, and Thursday Revelation Study at 5:00 PM.
They will resume after March 17.
Celebration of Life
A Celebration of Life for Lois Greene (David Greene Jr’s mother) will be
held today, Sabbath, February 17 at 3:00 PM at the Rogue River Church.
Choir Practice
The choir had its first practice session last week. All of the members will tell
you it was a lot of fun. We would like to extend the invitation to join us for
our next practice session which will be on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 6:30 PM
in the Choir Room. These Wednesday practice sessions will only be while
the Prophecy Seminar is ongoing. New scheduled times will be announced
when the seminar is over. Bring a bottle of water, a cheerful spirit, your
voice and a friend. We plan on having another fun-filled time as we prepare
for an upcoming performance. As Andrew said, "Come and See!"
ACS Disaster Response
When disasters strike, do you wish you had a role to play in helping the
survivors? Adventist Community Services Disaster Response has played a
vital role in the recent disasters. Teams from the Northwest have gone to
help run the donations warehouses in Texas and Florida. Come receive the
basic Donations Management training at the Oregon Conference in
Gladstone on Sunday, March 4 from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Sunday’s
training is $35 for first timers; $15 for renewal. Lunch will be provided. This
training is required by the Conference for all church officers, teachers,
leaders of Children and Youth, and Safety Officers at least once every three
years. Registration forms are at the Personal Ministries Window. For more
information, please contact Laura Pascoe at 503-850-3500 or
Newsletter Deadline
Our beloved News ‘n Views editor Rita McMullen is back at home after
many months in the hospital, and she’s ready to resume the newsletter again.
Please send your information to: [email protected]. The deadline is Thursday,
February 22 for the March newsletter. And many, many thanks to Melissa
Derfler for taking over in her absence!
Religious Liberty Association
Do you struggle to explain your convictions about Sabbath or labor unions to
your employer? Are you being asked to work on Sabbath? The Northwest
Religious Liberty Association can help. Call Greg Hamilton and Rhonda
Bolton at 360-857-7040.
EBAY Expert Needed
The church is in need of a person who can sell the used audio/visual
equipment. Please contact Neto at 978-549-9997 for more information.
Quilts for Kids Ministry
One of our young deaconesses, Rebekah Hill, has been impressed by God to
start a Blankets for Kids Ministry to fill a unique opportunity to be the hands
of Jesus in our community. Innocent kids often suffer the effects of sin
whether it is a preemie struggling for its life in the hospital or a child pulled
out of an abusive home. A homemade blanket would share the love of Jesus
in a tangible way, bringing comfort and security. Rebekah will work with
local agencies to distribute the blankets, and in the meantime she’s looking
for volunteers to help! It doesn’t matter whether you already know how to
quilt, use some other form of needlework, or if you’re simply willing to
learn. Your help and fabrics are needed. For more information or to
volunteer, contact Rebekah Hill at 509-310-3171.
Sister Church Events North Valley SDA Church Women's Ministries would like to invite Grants
Pass women to a new series of meetings being held at the church in Merlin,
on the second and fourth Monday of each month at 11:00 AM. Our study
is based on a small book written by Katy Chamberlin, North Valley WM
leader, called Lord, Change Me: Christian Women Desiring to Live the
Victorious Life. Our goal is to help women overcome weaknesses, establish
good life habits, and become productive women of God. For more
information please contact Mary McIntosh at 360-798-0230
Media Ministry
Our church features a media ministry, so please be aware that our 10:50 AM
service is recorded for viewing via television, internet, and is streamed live.
Please note that anyone participating, including children during Children’s
Story, will be recorded. If you don’t wish you or your child to be seen on
camera, please sit in the far right section behind the first five rows. Thank
you.
