SEEDINGWhen bare soil is exposed, temporarily or permanently, to erosive forces fromwind and or water on flat areas, mild slopes, grassed waterways and spillways,diversion ditches and dikes, borrow and stockpile areas, and spoil piles.

Retains existing root mat which assists in stabilizing slopes. Assists in therevegetation process by providing sprout growth. Reduces sheet flow velocitiespreventing rilling and gullying. Discourages off-road vehicle use.

SLOPE STABILIZATIONSlope stabilization measures provide an immediate and effective cover over rawerodible slopes affording excellent protection against rain and wind erosion.

DUST CONTROLAs a temporary measure on exposed and unstabilized areas that must beprotected from wind or water erosion.

At locations where construction equipment will enter and exit the drain easementand tracking of soil is anticipated.

STABILIZED CONSTRUCTIONACCESS

CHECK DAM In constructed and existing flow corridors to reduce flow velocities.

VEGETATED BUFFER STRIPSAlong stream and drain corridors, sensitive areas, and shorelines when earthchanges will occur during a drain maintenance or improvement project or whenan eroding bank or drain easement area needs to be stabilized.

DIVERSION DIKE Runoff needs to be diverted around sensitive areas, unstable or easily erodedsoils, bare soils, away from steep banks, or around earth change activities.
