Overview of Granting Programs

• 11 different grant program cycles a year• Over $1.0 million granted in FY2015 through these

cycles• Grants to 501(c)(3)s and government entities—

including schools

• Beginning with January deadlines, some will have an online application process, others will remain as is (download application and submit via email)

Two Grant Opportunities for SchoolsAshwaubenon Education Foundation Funds

• Annual• $500 - $2,000• Staff, parents, or students

in Ashwaubenon School District must apply

• Targeted funding for:– Enrichment activities– Community involvement– Professional training

School Spirit Educational Endowment Funds

• Annual• $200 - $750• Staff, students, parents in

Green Bay Area Public School District must apply

• Targeted funding for:– Custom creative educational

practices– Potential to serve as a

model for school district

Crime Prevention Foundation Fund

• Annual• $500 - $3,000• Diminishing crime in at least one of the following areas:

– Desire to commit the crime– Ability to commit the crime– Opportunity to commit the crime

• Focus on at-risk populations, especially youth• Contact: Amber Paluch

R. Bruce & Alyce S. Kopseker Trust

• Deadline: May 1 annually• Funding amount open depending on scope and idea

(typically between $5,000 and $20,000)• For programs that support individuals age 60 and over,

who live primarily north of Sturgeon Bay, Door County.• Help them remain healthy and independent in their

Funds for Greater Green Bay (1)• Deadlines January 10 and July 1 annually• $3,000 - $20,000• Priority on

– Collaboration – Program improvement, filling identified gaps or changes in needs– Not funding ongoing operations of single organizations– Special attention to programs serving Kewaunee and/or Oconto

counties

Funds for Greater Green Bay (2)• Focus Areas (50% of funding): to leverage with

Community-identified priorities:– Education (ABC)– Workforce Development (ABC)– Addressing Root Causes of Poverty (Basic Needs Giving

Partnership)– Girls ages 9-15 to help them avoid/overcome low self-esteem,

develop leadership skills, learn to set goals, etc.

• Other 50% to other fields of interest:– Arts & Culture– Environment & Conservation– Community Improvement– Health and Human Services– Youth Development– Any worthy charitable cause will be considered!

The Women’s Fund of Greater Green Bay

• Bi-annual (January and July)• Current Focus: Girls ages 9-15• Brown, Kewaunee and Oconto counties. • Collaborations among organizations, a plus. • Focus may change every few years.• Contact: Martha Ahrendt

Basic Needs Giving Partnership (1)

• 3 Types of Collaborative Grants available: – Planning– Single or Multi-Year Collaborative– Regional Collaborative (Oshkosh area up to Green Bay)

• Purpose of this fund is to:– Address root causes of poverty– Support long-term visions/solutions to move people out of

poverty– Assist those with limited capacity, such as the low-income

elderly or significantly disabled to maintain a stable, dignified quality of life.

Basic Needs Giving Partnership (2)• Impact Areas:

– Help children, youth and young adults become healthy & ready to succeed in school and become self-sufficient

– Strengthen individuals & families to learn to meet basic needs & build financial self-sufficiency.

– Empower & support individuals affected by aging and dementia with low or fixed incomes.

– Help un/under-insured sustain higher quality of life by preventing or reducing acute and long-term care crisis.

Corporate Grant Program

• Corporations make decisions based on own values/priorities

• 3 ways corporations currently work with us:– Corporation finds own applications and recommends

grants– Community Foundation provides list of grants based

on corporation’s criteria– Separate application process

– Register as a grants administrator. 1) Create your profile and verify registration.2) Connect with your organization.The foundation will confirm your role in 1-2

business days.– Log in to the application portal to complete an

application and upload required documents, including a new budget form.
