Faculty Feedback November 2013

• Commitment level of students not OK-- ease of attending with no consequences for lack of homework, participation, absences, less chance of success in future programs or work.

• We need to look at how students are placed and moved from level to level; ESL-ABE alignment.

• How can we transition students more effectively? Not all students need GED classes after ABE classes? Some can go straight to college level classes.

• Change curriculum so that there is more consistency between levels.

• Not working: ABE is not graded, so classes do not meet pre-reqs for college classes (exception—student gets higher Compass score) (Compass repeat costs $$)

• Upgraded curriculum reflecting standards & new GED tests.

• Where do ESL students go after Foundations?
