Wilmetta G. (McKinney) Pietz Metta Pietz, 82, of Ridgefield, WA, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Southwest Washington Medical Center. She was born October 7, 1929 in Griggsville, IL, to Paul and Edna McKinney. Metta graduated from Pittsfield, IL, before moving with her family to Ridgefield. There she purchased the “Sweet Shop” and met her future husband Bud Pietz. Together they had three children; Rosemary (Jon) Forsberg, David (Mary) Pietz and Patrick (Anne) Pietz. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Kristin, Ashley, Monica, Lucas and Alyssa, two great-grandchildren Logan and Colton, a sister Marilyn Kraus and a brother Rodney McKinney. After her youngest son was in kindergarten, Metta went to work for KWRL Transportation, driving a school bus. She drove for 25 years. Especially gratifying to her was to be able to transport the second generation of “her kids.” Metta was also a skilled wood crafter and candle maker. There is nothing she could not or would not do once her mind was set. She and Bud were also involved in the Ridgefield Little League while their children were young. There will be a Celebration of Life Friday, May 18, 2012 from 5 - 8 pm at the Ridgefield Community Center. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice. Layne’s Funeral Home in Battle Ground is in charge of arrangements.
