Long Term Athlete Development
American Development Model
ADM Guiding Principles
O Fun! Fun! Fun!O Pursuit of excellence – players, coaches and
volunteersO Affordability – best program at the most
reasonable costO Teamwork – hockey is a team sport; success on
ice, as in life, best achieved working together towards a shared goal
O Enjoyment – player-centered organizationO Skill and Player Development – emphasis on
these factors in long-term development process
Steve JohnsonO Your child’s success or lack of
success in the game of hockey does not indicate what kind of parent you are. But, having a child that is coachable, respectful, a great teammate, mentally tough, resilient, and always tries their best is a direct reflection of your parenting.
