Just Announced: Champion Real Estate Company has just acquired a site near Capitol Records in Hollywood with plans to construct a 20-unit apartment building, a hotel and retail space. M Capital Partners will develop an 860-unit luxury apartment building next to the Lombardi House, which it also owns.

Rising High: It’s been three years coming, but Kilroy Realty began moving dirt for Academy Square at the end of 2017. Just as high rises have become standard in downtown Los Angeles, Kilroy’s project, which will include 250 apartment units, will rise 23 stories. Higher still, a just-announced plan by GPI Capital on the site of Amoeba Music will rise 28 stories.
