➢ All associated demolition, clearing, grading, utility work and other work per the contractdocuments.

➢ A shock attenuation pad is to be installed under the new carpet. The approved products arelisted in the specifications.

➢ The replacement turf shall be a 13,000 denier slit film product as described in thespecifications.

➢ Product Substitutions (10 day prior approvals should already be submitted).

o There are no approved Substitutions.

Bid Alternates

This scope is not meant to be all inclusive. Refer to the contract documents for specific

information.

➢ New nets shall be provided for the existing to remain goal posts—goal posts do get sandedand powder coated

➢ The U-shaped goals arms shall be replaced with new goal arms.

Permits

➢ A site permit is not required for a turf replacement project.

➢ No VDOT permit required on this project.

Addenda

➢ It shall be the contractor’s responsibility to ensure they have received all the addenda.This meeting will be part of the next addendum.

Allowances

➢ See spec 01020- $25,000

Subcontractors

➢ Within 48 hours of the bid opening the apparent 3 lowest bidders will need to submit a list ofsubcontractors (section 00300) only one subcontractor per trade per section shall be listed!

o Site and site utilities subcontractor

o Excavation subcontractor

o Synthetic Turf Installer Subcontractor

o Synthetic Turf Manufacturer

Project Award

➢ Scheduled School Board Approval will be October 22, 2020.

➢ We may defer NTP for 60 days.

Construction Time

➢ Substantial completion is January 29, 2021. ➢ Final completion is February 5, 2021.

Work Sequence

➢ Work can start on the field October 22, 2020.

All contract revision, prior to bid, shall be made by addenda ONLY. All bid related questions shall be made in writing to Andy Peterson. Email address ATPeterson@ fcps.edu.

Deadline for Contractor questions is Friday, September 25 @ 4:30 pm. Any questions after the 25th may or may not be responded to. Only contract changes will be issued in an addendum.

QUESTIONS/ANSWERS/STATEMENTS FROM THE BIDDERS:

Question 1: Public Opening-nothing listed in invitation to Bid regarding bid opening:

“Bids will be opened and read aloud at the time and place set forth in the Invitation to

Bid”

Can you clarify if the bid opening will be in person or virtual and will it be at the time

of the bid submission, 3 PM ET?

Answer 1: Refer to Pre-Bid meeting minutes, dated September 23, 2020.

Question 2: “Bids shall be made in duplicate upon the Bid Form”- can you clarify what this

language means? Do you want multiple copies or bid form, or bid book?

Answer 2: Provide one original and duplicate of Bid Form. Refer to Specifications Section

00100-6 BIDS.

Question 3: The Prepaid Insured Warranty Policy:

a. Will our copy of our certificate of insurance with warranty coverage shown besufficient for this request?

Answer 3: For warranty coverage please refer to Specification Section 02749-1.08

WARRANTY.

Question 4: Since we are an approved manufacturer and installer on these bid documents:

a. Do we still need to supply the following submittals with bid regarding:i. Samplesii. A letter and specifications sheet certifying that the products of this

specification section meet or exceed specified requirementsi. Submit Certified copies of independent (third-party) laboratory reports on

ASTM tests as follows for Synthetic Turf carpetii. The designated Supervisory personnel on the project must be certified, in

writing by the turf Manufacturer, as competent in the installation of thismaterial, including sewing seams and proper installation of the infillmixture. Addendum #1 (21-012)

iii. Firm Experience:1. Firm Experience:

1. The Synthetic Turf System shall be installed by an experiencedContractor who shall provide a list of twenty-five (25) completed fieldinstallations in the United States within the last three years performingbusiness under the name of the current installation company, providingspecific information about the name of the product, contact names,addresses, telephone numbers, year of the installation and type of infillmaterial for the following types of fields:

A. A soccer field and a football field of 70,000 sq. ft. or largerB. A list of synthetic turf fields, other than soccer or football.

2. Firm Experience:The Synthetic Turf aggregate base system shall be installed by an

experienced Contractor who shall provide a list of five (5) completed field

installations in the United States within the last five years, providing

specific information about the name of the project, contact names,

addresses, telephone numbers, year of the installation and type of turf

material for the following types of fields:

a. A. A soccer field and a football field of 70,000 sq. ft. or larger.b. B. A list of synthetic turf fields, other than soccer or football.

The list shall include a minimum of five (5) fields that have beenapproved for game play by one of the following associations.

c. A. National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)d. B. National Federation of State High School Associations

(NFHS)e. C Federation Internacionale de Football Associations (FIFA)f. D National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA)

The Contractor may use Subcontractors/Installers who employ only qualified and experienced Supervisors and Technicians skilled in the installation of Synthetic Turf.

The Subcontractor/Installer must demonstrate its past experience on at least five (5)

acceptable preparations of the sub-base for the installation of Synthetic Turf system

for full-size football, soccer or other athletic/recreational fields (minimum of 70,000

square feet) in the United States within the past five years. A completed list of all

installations of vertically draining porous stone base and drainage systems, contact

names, and phone numbers shall be submitted to the Owner for review to

demonstrate the Subcontractor's/Installer's qualifications.

IF all Firm Experience requests are required with bid, even though we are an approved vendor, can you please confirm that since we are both the manufacturer and installer that only one set of projects will be required – 25 synthetic turf installations and 5 aggregate base system installations

Answer 4: Upon award of the contract, the Contractor will need to submit all items as required

by the contract Specifications.

All other terms and conditions remain the same.
