REED Accomplishments
According to the Department of Education, English Speakers of Oth-
er Languages (ESOL) comprise ten percent of the U.S. student popu-
lation. With nearly 5 million ESOL’s in U.S. public schools, there is a
high demand for ESOL teachers in all states.* In order to become
ESOL certified in Maryland, individuals must first pass the ESOL Prax-
is Exam. REED recognizes those who have passed the ESOL Praxis
exam, becoming ESOL Certified! Congratulations on all your hard
work ladies!
Meredith Lashley (pictured above left), a campus student, recently
passed the ESOL Praxis Exam!
“Thank you so much for your instruction and support in the REED 650
class, which I know made a huge impact leading to my success.”
And congratulations to Melissa Miller, a Howard County cohort stu-
dent, and Nicole Picchiello, a student in the SMHEC cohort, for their
successes on the Praxis and for earning their ESOL certifications!
Michelle Levin, a Howard county cohort stu-
dent (pictured left), passed the ESOL Praxis exam
in 2011! Congratulations Michelle!
Emily Eisner, a campus student (pictured right),
passed the ESOL Praxis Exam in November of
2017. Great job Emily!
