Graduate Certificate in College Teaching PERFORMA SECTOR, FACULTY OF EDUCATION Foundations of College Teaching and Innovation The Graduate Certificate in College Teaching is offered with the collaboration of the PERFORMA Sector of the Faculty of Education and the Consortium of Anglophone Cegeps. As part of the Master Teacher Program, its courses are designed for and taught by Anglophone Cegep teachers. This 15-credit program complements the Graduate Diploma and the Master of Education in College Teaching. The program has been designed for college educators wanting to improve their understanding of current principles, practices, and research in the context of higher education. A particular feature of this program is its emphasis on educational theory and student learning research from the perspective of a college teacher’s own teaching experiences. The main goal of these courses is to provide opportunities for college teachers to engage in scholarly inquiry and reflection through the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning approach (SoTL). Students ready to embark in this program will learn how to: develop scholarly, research-led approaches to teaching while engaging in activities and tasks aimed at cultivating critical reflection about higher education design and implement educational activities in accordance with program goals create activities based on clear pedagogical principles and be able to continually adapt them to changing circumstances update their disciplinary knowledge in accordance with the subject matter taught and college program involved effectively integrate information and communication technology into professional practice Level : Master’s Designed for College Teachers The Graduate Certificate in College Teaching (microprogramme de 2 e cycle) is designed for teachers in Anglophone colleges and therefore the language of instruction is English. Requests for admission from Francophone PERFORMA member institutions can be considered. Program delivery and trimesters of admission Courses are offered at PERFORMA Anglophone colleges and partially online. Requests for admission are accepted for the fall, winter and summer trimesters. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS General Requirements Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent or have an educational background deemed satisfactory according to the standards of the Policy on the Recognition of Prior Learning. Specific Requirements Candidates must be teachers in a PERFORMA network member college.
