St. Catherine of Siena

Born: March 25th, 1347Died: March 25th,1347 Feast Day: April 29th

A memorable story from her life occurred when she was sixteen. She became a num and helped thesick and the poor. Catherine wrote letters to the pope in France to come back to Italy. Catherine did not go to school , but she wrote very well. Catherine encouraged people to live in peace.

St. Thomas of Aquinas

Born: 1225 in ItalyDied: 1274Feast day: January 28th

Patron Saint of Catholic SchoolsWhen St. Thomas was 19 years old, his brothers held him captive in a castle for 2 years to try to stop him from becoming a Dominican Priest. His faith was so strong, nothing stopped him from following his vocation.

Saint Anthony of PaduaBorn:1195Died:1231Feast Day: June 13. He always prayed in a small hermit cell in Padua. One night, his little cell suddenly filled up with light. Anthony saw the baby Jesus before him. Anthony held him and spoke to him. A man named Count Tiso witnessed this miracle.

St. John of the CrossBorn in 1542 near Avila in Spain.Died in the year 1591.November 24 is his feast day . St . John thought that suffering meant telling God he loved him. When he got sick he went to stay in a monastery . But the priest did not treat him nice . At his death a marvelous light appeared in his room and the priest had realized, through this light, that he had made a mistake.

She had three children and one of her children did not believe in the Christian faith .He did not get baptized .His name was Augustine and right before his mother, Saint Monica, died he got baptized. She was so happy that he joined the Christian faith before she died.

Saint Joan of Arc

Born: January 6,141Feast Day: May 30Died: May 30,1431Joan loved to go to church. At an early age she heard voicesof Saint Michael, Saint Catherine and Saint Margaret. TheseSaints told Joan to go to the King of France to help him regain control of his Kingdom. She was captured because a bishop didn’t believed her story. She was burned to stake. Thirty years later the church realized that she was right and Joan was pronounced as a saint.

MARGARET MARYBorn: France on July 22, 1647Died: October 17, 1690Feast Day: October 17 Saint Margaret Mary was famous for saying “What have I in heaven and what do I desire on earth, but Thee alone, O my God.” When she was eleven she had a crippling illness and was later healed by the Virgin Mary. She joined a convent in 1675 and she received a revelation from the Lord which included twelve promises to her and those who have a true devotion to the Sacred Heart.

St. Rose of LimaBorn April 20,1586

Died August 30,1676Feast day August 30th

A memorable story from her life is that her real name was Isabel but because she was such a beautiful baby she was called Rose. As she grew older she became more and more beautiful and one day her mother put a wreath of roses on her head to show off her loveliness to friends. But Rose had no desire to be admired because her heart was given to Jesus , so she put a long pin into the wreath and pierced it so deeply that she had a hard time getting the wreath off after that.

Saint BrigidBorn:453Died: February 1st 523.Feast Day :February 1st .She said “Christ dwells in every creature ”. What people do for her, people in this country pray to her. In Ireland people weave crosses they made from tall grasses and put them in their homes.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Born: 1774 Feast day: January 4St. Elizabeth was born and raised from a wealthy family in New York City during the late 18 century . Her father was a doctor and her Mother died when she was three- years-old . She reads the bible especially when she is sad . A memorable story of her life is when she moved to Italy with her sick husband. He soon died of tuberculosis .When she returned to the U.S.A, she turned Catholic . She remain strong as Catholic and begins a Catholic school to help the poor and needy children to learn and grow in faith with God.
