GRADE-R DIPLOMA The Grade-R Diploma is a 3-year teaching qualification on NQF Level 6 (380 credits) and is recognised by the DoE as REQV 13 for remuneration purposes. After obtaining the 3-year Diploma in Grade R students can articulate to a B.Ed Degree in Foundation Phase (Grades 1 – 3) and will be credited with up to 180 credits. ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Senior Certificate with a Diploma Endorsement or an ECD Level 4 or 5 certificate. PLUS: You must be a current Grade R teacher at a registered Grade R centre. Applicants with a Matric Certificate, but without a diploma endorsement, and no other teaching qualifications, can apply for a Universities SA Exemption Certificate provided that they have obtained at least an E symbol in 4 Matric subjects with at least 1 on HG and a minimum of 3 passed during 1 exam.
