Hello Everyone!

Only two weeks to go this term and so much to do! It has flown by, mainly due I think, to the large number of exciting events that have been organised for our students to enjoy.

Last week we had our Father’s Day stall (many thanks to parents (Michelle Freckleton, Ashleigh Brown, Kathleen Pope and friends) as well as our Father’s Day afternoon. The Church car park was chock a block which is a great indication of the large number of Dad’s that were in attendance. At the same time we had our Grade 3 ‘Phillip Island Adventure Park’ campers returning after a wonderful three days of fun as they experienced lots of initiatives aimed at challenging them and developing their resilience, persistence and ’getting along’ skills. A special thanks to the following adults who took such great care of the 130 students who attended:

Libby Derbyshire, Lianna Abrat, Sue Johnston, Fiona Lardner, Tracy McGavigan, Amy Tivendale, Steve Gilbert, Daniel Sutera, Darren Kirby, Rebecca Ratten, Mandy Ursnik, Allison Jackson, Suzy Gaymer and parents Bec Lindsay and David Moore. Without their willingness to give up their personal time this camp would not have been possible.

Some more exciting activities coming up include the Grade 6 production “Night at the Berwick Fields Museum”, Footy Day including Staff v Year 6 Students Footy Game and the ’Australiana Trivia Night’ which is early next term.

Below is another School Council member profile. I hope you are enjoying reading these.

Regards,

Stephen

Once a Week, Take a Peek

Families please check your child’s hair for Head Lice each Sunday

before they return to school.

Please treat immediately if an infestation is found. The incidence of

head lice would reduce significantly if this quick check was

undertaken weekly.

NO DOGS ALLOWED IN OUR SCHOOL GROUNDS

(Whether on a leash or not!)

Please understand that some of our students are scared of dogs and

even if your dog is the nicest dog in the world they do not know that.

What fun was had by one and all when the Gwendoline kinder visited our wonderful library as part

of their school readiness program. The kinder teachers, and their volunteers, read stories for half

an hour. The children then had an opportunity to explore the library on their own and look at books

as well as borrow some. From all reports everyone had a very positive experience. There will be

some further visits to our garden where the children will be paired up with a BFPS buddy who will

show them the things that we have growing currently as well as Donna’s and Christine’s girls’ or

feathered friends. Each buddy will also have a special task to explain and do with each kinder

child. This should be a great opportunity for our students to develop their knowledge even further.
