Dear Friend of Grace,
Greetings and welcome to the 2019 Grace Episcopal Day School PTO Auction!
The theme for tonight’s auction is “Seas the Day,” which celebrates Grace’s aspiration to sail to new heights
in our quest to provide academic excellence to all of our students. Tonight is an expression of what makes
the Grace community so extraordinary; we have come together in celebration to support our wonderful
school and the children we all cherish. All of the proceeds from tonight’s events will go to support all of our
Grace Scholars, and our Variable Tuition Program which is the fullest expression of our commitment to socio-
economic diversity. As we gather this evening recognizing 59 years of Grace, we are mindful of the bright
future for the Grace community as well as the legacy of creating school community that is diverse in so many
ways.
Tonight’s event will also raise money to upgrade and freshen our school facility, whether it be new lighting
and upgrades to our library, carpet in our main hallways, or new banners and signage in front of the school,
the proceeds will allow Grace to continue to bring some new and exciting dimensions to our beloved school
building and the daily life of our community.
We wish to thank so many for so much, especially the leadership of our fearless and tireless Auction Co-
Chairs Nichole Sweeney and Candyce Yates who worked together to create a truly stunning result. Further,
these chairs were supported by an energetic team of volunteers to whom we extend our Grace gratitude
for their efforts! Finally, thank you to the Grace faculty and staff, both for assisting with class projects and
for donating auction items, as well as to our Director of Advancement Becky Mulholland for serving as a
helpful liaison. And a special shout out to Emily Gould, our art teacher who assisted her students in creating
some truly stunning art for auction here tonight. Together, everyone’s donations, sponsorships, and
countless hours of volunteer service have made this magical evening for Grace a reality.
As you see “old” friends and meet new ones tonight, we hope you will be reminded of what makes this
community so extraordinary. Your donations will help to sustain our robust and generous Grace Scholars
program and extend our reach in innovation in our educational program. Thank you for joining us tonight
and for helping Grace to build upon its already strong sense of community!
Sincerely,
Jen Danish Stephen Brundage
Head of School Chair, Board of Governors
Grace Episcopal Day School will provide every student the opportunity for academic excellence in a caring,
