On September 24, the 16th Annual Opportunities Open will be presented by the Dulles Airport Rotary Club. Since its inception, this tournament has been an event dedicated to making a positive di"erence in the lives of people with disabilities. All proceeds are distributed to #e Arc Northern Virginia (#e Arc), Every Citizen Has Opportunities (ECHO), ServiceSource, and the Arc of Loudoun (Larc). Your continued support over the last 15 years has enabled us to direct over $500,000 to these charities in their e"orts to support our local community.

#e Dulles Rotary Club believes that supporting the missions of these four organizations ful$lls one of the basic objectives of Rotary: serving others in the local community. We hope you will join our list of corporate sponsors, including Walmart, Omniplex, Marriott International, VW of America, and representatives from the German Armed Forces Command of the United States and Canada.

#is year’s event will again take place at Hidden Creek Country Club in Reston, Virginia on Monday, September 24. #e day begins with a full lunch and ends with a catered dinner, ra%e and silent auction for all participants and guests. Your support of this event facilitates so many things: transportation to work for a person in need, the means for someone to live in a group home, or overcoming other barriers to living a life like yours.

We know that the current times may be challenging. We are con$dent, however, that you will enjoy a rewarding day of golf and be further inspired by supporting four worthwhile charities that make a tremendous di"erence in the lives of thousands in our local community.

Sincerely,

Wally OwingsWallace Owings, President Dulles International Airport Rotary Club (703) 471-6161 [email protected]

Where Do Your Funds Go?

Arc of Northern Virginia (The Arc) is a private, non-pro!t organization established nearly 50 years ago. With a membership of over 1,500 individuals, The Arc of Northern Virginia works to provide over 7,000

citizens with developmental/intellectual disabilities in Northern Virginia the resources to live “A life like yours!” In 2007, The Arc created the !rst “Visitor Center” for people, families and individuals wanting to learn how to build opportunities for individuals living with lifelong disabilities. The Arc of Northern Virginia believes that access to the community cannot simply be achieved by building a ramp or widening a doorway. It is achieved through building an array of lifelong relationships one person and one family at a time. For more information, visit www.TheArcOfNova.org.

Every Citizen Has Opportunities (ECHO) is a private, non-pro!t agency created in 1974 to provide supported

employment, training, support services and transportation for individuals with disabilities in the Northern Virginia area. ECHO creates work opportunities through business service contracts at U.S. Geological Survey, REHAU, Prototype Productions, Dynamic Details, ARAMARK at The National Conference Center, ECHO Mail Service, County of Loudoun, Direct Mail Marketing Group, Loudoun Public School Administration, Target Stores, Federal Aviation Administration and more. For more information, visit www.EchoWorks.org.

The Arc of Loudoun (LARC) advocates for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by promoting individual support and equitable participation with their non-disabled peers in

all aspects of community life including education, residence, vocation and health care. Larc works with other organizations to identify and address the unmet needs of those with disabilities living in our community and seeks to educate the community about intellectual and developmental disabilities. Larc operates The Aurora School, located in Purcellville, providing year-round education to children with autism and other developmental disabilities. For more information, visit www.TheArcOfLoudoun.org.

ServiceSource was established in 1971. The ServiceSource Network is an Alexandria–based, regional not-for-pro!t

whose mission is to create opportunities for individuals with disabilities through valued employment, training and support services.  In order to ful!ll that mission, the ServiceSource Network o#ers a variety of rehabilitation programs, support services, and employment opportunities. With operations in 10 states and the District of Columbia, the ServiceSource Networks served over 12,000 individuals with disabilities last year. The ServiceSource Network provides quality services to 18 government agencies and over 100 commercial customers. For more information, visit www.OurPeopleWork.org.
