Welcome to Global Platform Nepal – ActionAid’s youth training centre.

The Global Platform Nepal sets the frames for creative youth activities, global activism, innovative voluntarism, solidarity and citizenship.

Through exciting trainings we encourage and motivate young people to take action in their communities and promote social change.

‘Think global – Act local’ - we believe that social change is possible when youth around the world come together and create local activities with global visions.

As part of a worldwide network of Global Platforms, we promote youth empowerment for social change through participatory, experience based and fun trainings - all carefully developed on the basis of comprehensive global experiences.

We provide youth with the knowledge, attitude and skills to be active global citizens with the ability to reduce social and economic inequality in the world!

GLOBAL CHANGE2 months of social and personal change! This training is about effective campaigning for global justice. It is designed to provide you with tools, methods and experience in mobilizing the public and putting decisive pressure on decision makers.

4 weeks of preparation for being an amazing volunteerIf you want to make a difference as a volunteer, you need to have the skills, attitude and knowledge. Cultural understanding, concrete tools in planning and political challenges are just some of the areas this course will touch upon.

4 months of combined studying and travellingThrough adventures, cultural meetings, discussions, challenges and cooperation, the college will give you clarity to the meaning of global citizenship. Together we will discover how the global challenges and local realities are interlinked. The course also includes travelling to other countries in the region.

GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP COLLEGE

4 weeks of intensive entrepreneur skillsThis is a training in the popular concept of “Social Entrepreneurship”. The participants will acquire skills within idea generation, concept development, needs assessment, stakeholder analysis, project management, fundraising, networking and strategic planning.

3 weeks of education in becoming a super cool trainer“A roller coaster ride” – this is how people often describe this training. Using “learning by doing” methods we will assure, that at the end of this training, you will be ready to plan, conduct and evaluate workshops.

Global Platform Nepal is more than a training centre. It also functions as a “social activist hub” where young people, regardless of their backgrounds, come together and exchange ideas for new projects.

The Global Platform also houses the office of ActionAid’s youth network, ACTIVISTA. In collaboration with ACTIVISTA we arrange Social Platform activities such as: movie and documentary screenings, debates, dancing events, workshops and much more.
