Shell Malleus Grease ET is an extreme-pressure grease, blended for industrialapplications operating at temperatures up to 600C

It is fine dispersion of small particle size graphite incorporated in a syntheticfluid with an ashless, inorganic (non-soap), non-abrasive thickening agent.

    Applications

    Typical applications include:

    Kiln car bearings

Furnace & Coke oven door gears

    Drying tunnel mechanisms

Grease PerformanceHigh temperature grease performance isseverely limited by the nature of the base fluidand thickener which may degrade at hightemperatures, destroy the grease structure andform harmful deposits.

At elevated temperatures the liquid phase ofShell Malleus Grease ET evaporates leavingbehind a non-abrasive amorphous graphitelubricant.

Graphite is a lamellar solid giving goodlubricating performance and low coefficients offriction in severe environments.

Shell Malleus Grease ET also gives goodservice in lower temperature applications

Application adviceShell Malleus Grease ET MUST be appliedsparingly, preferably by hand, after fitting andbefore assembling the bearing housing.

Over lubrication MUST be avoided. Forexample, liberal applications of Shell MalleusGrease ET to a stationary rolling bearing mightresult, at very high temperatures, in graphitewedges being formed between the rollingelements as the base fluid evaporates. This isan unsatisfactory form of lubrication andbearing performance might be inhibited onsubsequent bearing rotation.

Health & SafetyShell Malleus Grease ET is unlikely to presentany significant health or safety hazard when

properly used in the recommended application, and good standards of industrial and personalhygiene are maintained.

For further guidance on Product Health &Safety refer to the appropriate Shell ProductSafety Data Sheet.
