The second issue of Newsletter is being published by Department of Pharmacy. The
praiseworthy efforts taken by department in organizing various activities for all round
development of students makes this department very unique. I am happy to place this
Newsletter in your hands which has covered all the achievements, activities and
development undertaken by the department during 2018-19. The consistent efforts of all the
members of Editorial team need to be appreciated. I wish you all happy reading.

I am feeling elated to present this second issue of newsletter. This year has been phenomenal
in all the respects as we could add so many activities for the students and staff which were
successfully completed and has brought the name to the department. This year for the first
time we could arrange Mega Alumni Meet under the auspices of Pharmacy Alumni
Association, Jalgaon (PAAJ). Two “one week training programmes” for teachers sponsored
by MSBTE & DTE were organized, apart from various curricular, co-curricular &
extracurricular activities. The glimpses of all these activities have been covered in this
newsletter. The hardwork, creativity & timely efforts put by Shri. Taufik Kazi & his team
are praiseworthy. Hope you will enjoy this issue.

An Industry visit of the

Hospital Visit
Pharmacy Visit
Visit to Ekdant Medical Store, Pimprala, Jalgaon
was conducted on 04/01/2019 for second year
students. Students interacted with Sandip
Chaudhari, Pharmacist ,who gave information
about handling of prescription, dispensing and
storage of medicine along with hygiene
maintenance.
Hospital visit to Varad Hospital
was conducted on 04/01/2019
for second year students. Students
interacted with Dr. Bhavana
Chaudhari and Dr. Sanjeev
Chaudhari, who gave information
about various hospital instruments
and equipment's. Students visited
all the department including OT.
Second year students visited to
Civil Hospital and Govt.
Medical College Jalgaon on 26th
Feb 2018. Students visited central
drug store and Medicine dept.
Students interacted with Chief
Pharmacist Mrs. Vidya Patil who
gave all the information about
working of pharmacy store.
During the visit students
visited various section like
granulation, tablet
compression, capsule filling,
packaging, antibiotic plant,
quality control etc. They learnt
various manufacturing
processes. Mr. T. M.Kazi,
was the co-ordinator of the
industrial visit.

MSBTE sponsored One Week Faculty Development Training Programme on “NBA: Norms and Preparation for Pharmacy Programme”
Department of Pharmacy, Government Polytechnic, Jalgaon had successfully organized MSBTE sponsored One week FDTP on
“NBA: Norms and Preparation for Pharmacy Programme” on 22nd to 26th Oct 2018.
The training programme was attended
by 30 participants from various
institutes within Maharashtra. All
sessions were very interactive and the
delegates actively participated in the
proceedings. All participants highly
appreciated the efforts put up by the
organizing committee members of
Department of Pharmacy, G.P. Jalgaon.
The programme was inaugurated by
Prof. Praveen Revankar, Director, CIT,
YASHADA, Pune by lighting of lamp in
presence of President of the function Dr.
M. V. Ingale, Principal, Govt.
Polytechnic, Jalgaon, Dr. R. J. Dias,
HOD, Department of Pharmacy, Govt.
Polytechnic, Jalgaon and Dr. C. R.
Pawar, Co-ordinator of the programme.
On occasion of Inaugural function of
training programme Dr. M. V. Ingale
emphasized on the significance and
training of NBA. Chief Co-ordinator of
programme Dr. R. J. Dias, in his
message quoted the benefits of training
programme in the implementation of
NBA process. Co-ordinator of the
programme Dr. C. R. Pawar highlighted
the objectives of training programme.
DTE sponsored One Week Faculty Development Programme on “Empowering Teaching Skills Using Modern Pedagogy Tools’’
One week Faculty Development Program on “Empowering Teaching Skills Using Modern Pedagogy Tools” was conducted at
Department of Pharmacy, Government Polytechnic, Jalgaon from 14th to 18th January, 2019. The FDP was sponsored by DTE,
Mumbai as a part of the initiative to enhance the faculty competencies in the area of Modern Pedagogy Tools.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr.
C. R. Patil, Professor, RCPIPER, Shirpur
as Chief Guest while Dr. S. B. Wesley
Presided over the programme in presence
of Dr. R. J. Dias, Chief coordinator, Dr.
A. S. Savali, Programme coordinator and
all participants.
The program was attended by 23 faculty
members from different Government
Polytechnics in Maharashtra. The
resource persons were experts from the
field, who could motivate the
participants to utilize modern pedagogy
tools in their teaching.
The training programme was
concluded with valedictory function
held on 18th Jan 2019 by distributing
the certificates at the hands of Dr. M.
V. Ingale, Principal, Government
Polytechnic, Jalgaon. We are very
much thankful to Director, DTE,
Mumbai, for sponsoring FDP.

Health Awareness Rally and Pathnatya on “KALAJI AUSHADHANCHI” On the occasion of World Pharmacist Day on 25th September 2018
Rally was flagged off by Hon. Dr. M.
V. Ingale, Principal ,Govt. Polytechnic
Jalgaon
Department of Pharmacy made remarkable contribution to society by organizing
Health Awareness Rally on the theme “Pharmacists : Your Medicines Experts”
and Pathnatya on “Kalaji Aushadhanchi” on auspicious occasion of “World
Pharmacist Day” on 25th September 2018. The objective of rally was to make
people aware about medicines and role of pharmacists. Students took the rally in
disciplined manner chanting slogans& holding placards related to safe use of
medicines. Crowd appreciated the efforts of students by their applause & rally
was successful in creating awareness about medicines. Pathnatya was co-ordinated
by Dr. Smt. C. R. Pawar.
The rally started from Department of
pharmacy and passed through Vidyut
colony and Shiv colony before ending at
main building of G.P. Jalgaon.

Chandani Chowk in Shiv colony,
Jalgaon and in front of main building
of Govt. Polytechnic Jalgaon.

NPW 2018 was conducted by Jalgaon District Diploma Pharmacy Colleges Association from 25th
September to 1st October 2018 based on the Theme : “Pharmacist: Your Medicines Experts”.
All 10 D. Pharm. colleges in and around Jalgaon participated in NPW celebrations. Events were organized in
various pharmacy colleges across Jalgaon district during this period. Various competitions were organized
namely, Quiz, Poster presentation, indoor and outdoor sports activities. Department of Pharmacy, G.P.
Jalgaon hosted poster presentation competition.
Department of Pharmacy, Government Polytechnic, Jalgaon had successfully organized state level poster presentation
competition on 16th February 2019 . More than 70 students from various institutions in Maharashtra state participated in the
poster presentation competition .

Second prize was bagged by Mayuri
Rathi and Shreya Chandak from Inst.
of Pharmacy, Akola, while
Third prize was secured by Mayuri
Patil and Krupesh Patil, Pharmacy
Dept. Government polytechnic, Jalgaon
and
Consolation prize was secured by
Pratiksha Shinde and Archana Pawar
from RSCOP, Buldhana.
The prizes were given at the hands of head and judges to the winners. Certificate of participation was given to each team. The
poster presentation was co-ordinated by Dr. K. U. Bansod.

Surgical Strike Day
Surgical Strike Day was celebrated by Department of
Pharmacy, Govt. Polytechnic, Jalgaon on 29th Sept 2018 in the
presence of Chief guest Principal Dr. M. V Ingale. On occasion
of Surgical Strike Day, all the ex-servicemen staff including
security of the institute were felicitated by offering gift.
Blood Donation Camp
Department of Pharmacy, Govt. Polytechnic, Jalgaon and Indian
Red Cross Society, Jalgaon jointly organized Blood Donation
Camp on the occasion of World Pharmacist Day 2018, on 29th Sept
2018. During this camp 33 students as well as Staff donated Blood.
The program was coordinated by Mr. S. E Gaikwad, Lecturer,
Pharmacy. The department received a memento and certificate of
appreciation for organizing blood bank.
Leprosy Awareness Camp
Department of Pharmacy, Govt. Polytechnic, Jalgaon and Asst.
Director Health Services (leprosy), Jalgaon organized Leprosy
Awareness Camp during 24 Nov 2018 to 09 Oct 2019 at
Pimprala, Jalgaon. During this camp all second year students
did the survey of leprosy prevalence after getting the training of
the same. Also provide valuable information regarding Leprosy
to the people and made them aware about Leprosy disease.

Annual National Convention of APTI
“APTICON 2018, “ held at Jaipur on 5th
& 6th October 2018. The National level
award of repute, consisted of Memento,
Citation & Rs 10,000 cash . The award was
given for his contribution as a teacher for
last 20 years, in a glittering ceremony at
23rd Annual National Convention , Jaipur.
The Principal, faculty, staff and all well
wishers congratulated Dr. R. J. Dias for

Department of Pharmacy conducted cleaning activities under
“Swachha Bharat Abhiyan” on 1st and 3rd Saturday of every
month . The activities started with cleaning classrooms,
laboratories, boys & girls common rooms, museum, herbal
garden and departmental campus. All the students and staff had
actively participated in the cleaning activities.
The department is continuing the cleaning activities throughout
the year.

students was given by all faculty. Best outgoing student
award was given to Ms. Ankita Salok based on her
performance in curricular, co-curricular & extra
