Brief Industrial Profile of Osmanabad District

1. General Characteristics of the District

1.1 Location & Geographical Area.

The Osmanabad district lies on latitude of 17.35 to 18.40 degrees N and on longitude of

75.16 to 76.40 degrees E. The district lies in the southern part of state. Most of the district area

is rocky while the remaining part is plain. The height of district is 600 mm above sea level. Most

part of the district is surrounded by Small Mountain called “Balaghar”, Bhoom, Washi, Kalamb,

Osmanabad & Tuljapur Tehsil le in the range of this Balaghar Mountain. Some part of the major

rivers like Godavari and Bhīma come under this district.

1.2 Topography

The location of Osmanabad is on Latitude Of 17.35 to 18.40 degree N and

Longitude 75.16 to 76.40 degree E. The district occupies an area of 7512.4 km². The district is

surrounded by following districts: Solapur - South-west Ahmednagar - North-west Beed –

North

1.3 Availability of Minerals : N.A.

1.4 Administrative set up:

Osmanabad district has 08 Tehsils. At the district level collector is the Administrative

chief and at Tehsil level Tehsildars are looking after the administration as per collector’s

instructions. For rural development chief executive officer of Zila parishad and BDOs at block

level are in charge of the administration. Municipal council for Tehsils are responsible for

development of all the Tehsils.

3.5 Udyog Aadhar Registered:

Udyog Aadhaar registration is enabling the units/enterprises to seek information and

apply online about various services being offered by all Ministries and Departments. The

process of obtaining Udyog Aadhaar Number is free-of cost, paperless and results in instant

registration.

Vide Notification dated SO E 2576 E dated 18th September 2015 published in Part II,

Section 3, Sub section (ii) of the Gazette of India, Extraordinary by Ministry of MSME Udyog

Aadhaar Memorandum has been functional. Till, 15th June, 2016 following number of Udyog
