Take a trip to Western Australia’s southern forest region and you’ll see some of the most magnificent forest country and awesome coastline in the world. There is a range of camping options in the Southern Forests. Choose from camp sites hidden in the forest in Warren National Park, beside a stream at Carey Brook or close to the coast at Black Point.
Travel timeIt takes approximately 3.5 hours to get to Manjimup from Perth. Pemberton is another 30 minutes further.
What to do in the Southern ForestsBushwalking, camping, fishing, canoeing, boating, beachcombing, swimming, sight seeing, tree climbing, four-wheel driving, scenic driving and much more. Refer to the D’Entrecasteaux National Park and Exploring Southern Forests brochures, available from Parks and Wildlife Service or download at parks.dbca.wa.gov.au.
Best time to visitAll year round, but it can get a bit wet in winter. Generally, you can pick and choose the camp site that suits you best, but some campgrounds fill up quickly on long weekends and school holidays.
FeesEntry fees apply in national parks. Camping fees apply at most sites. These fees contribute to the provision and maintenance of recreation facilities and visitor services throughout the parks.
Yeagarup Hut is operated by Pemberton Discovery Tours. Please visit www.pembertondiscoverytours.com.au or call (08) 9776 0484 for more information.
