A list of 9 (Nine,) claims which were placed before the 46° SLC & as directedb the SLC all the relevant documents are re-examined by Sr. Officer from theCommissioner of Industries & Commerce. Assam and is placed before theS LC for its consideration.

it was appraised to the committee b the Member Secretary that:

All the claims ere scrutinized as per the polic guidelines issued by the DIPP. Governmentof India from time to time & further informed about the procedure adopted for scrutinizingthe claims before placing in the committee. All the claims placed before the committee hadalready been scrutinized at various levels, Physical verification was initiated by the Office ofthe GM. DICC. Senior Finance & Accounts Officer & Audit Cell of the Office of theCommissioner of Industries & Commerce. Assam also verified the claims and admissibilityof the documents submitted b the claimants in the light of guidelines issued by theGovernment of India till date. The Committee was also informed that the claims were put upthrough agenda note h the Office of the Commissioner of Industries & Commerce. Assamere found eligible, admissible and in accordance with the revised guidelines.

In respect of the Expansion claims it was informed that as the basic objective of theExpansion was to enhance the production. productivity, employment and bringing efficiency

and reduce the cost of production etc. these aspects should be reflected in the productionfigure tiled b the unit to Excise. Tea Board. EmpIoment. Sales Tax. Income Tax etc.Accordingl as per the decision of the previous SLC’s these additional information’s weresought from the Expansion units and ere placed in the current SEC.

It was further infbrmed that all the Hnancial Banks! Institutions were also invited to the SLCto appraise the status of their financing units.

After threadbare discussion and obtaining views of the Officials of the Banks! FinancialInstitutions of the claims financed b them, the Committee Examined all the 37 (TlzirlpSeven.) Nos. of the CCIS claims placed before the SEC and approved 29 (Twen!j’ Nine,) Nos.of claims, 6 (Six) No. of claims were deferred & 2 (Two) No. of claim were rejected. Thedecision of the SEC claim wise is placed at Annexure-A, B & C.
