Leads to the question what we actually know about pet food and often several times a month there is another recall for pet food and pet treats. Kind of scary! We all want to give the best possible to our furry fur kids. Growing up, I never heard of allergies in dogs and cats, never heard of chronic ear infections, itchiness and hot spots and coming across the same health issues more and more often and over and over again, it made me wonder why this is or if I just wasn’t receptive seeing it when I was younger? Leads to the question what we actually know about pet food and often several times a month there is another recall for pet food and pet treats. Kind of scary! We all want to give the best possible to our furry fur kids.

Growing up, I never heard of allergies in dogs and cats, never heard of chronic ear infections, itchiness and hot spots and coming across the same health issues more and more often and over and over again, it made me wonder why this is or if I just wasn’t receptive seeing it when I was younger? Or might it be a modern world epidemic?

I believe though, that every problem, issue or disease has not only symptoms but must have a cause, a reason why issues and diseases arise.

Doing extensive research, I also came across a feline pet owner who managed her cat’s diabetes with solely feeding all natural wet food to the point were he would only need his insulin shots on a very rare occasion and I’ve seen MAJOR improvement of skin issues in numerous dogs with a diet change. It isn’t easy and a very daunting task to find the perfect food which the pet likes and with ingredients which are tolerated.

Love those interactive feeders and though made for pooches, the felines can too have loads of fun with it. It actually can prevent eating out of boredom and gives a sense of

prey. And for our dog friends, it surely slows down the ones who just seem to inhale their kibbles.

The Ingredients on every pet food, no matter if dry kibble or moist food lists from first to last by dominance of the type of ingredient in the means that the first ingredient is by percentage the highest amount present in the food, second on the list is second highest percentage and so on.

In this example we can see that Ground Yellow Corn is dominantly the main ingredient instead of how we would think a source of protein [meat] would be and this is to be found in most ‘commercial’ pet foods available. You might say, oh but chicken is already second but it must be pointed out that this is

EMM Insider 101EaseMyMind Booking 101

1. Log into your account online using your login credentials to place your request.

Online booking is the safest way as you place your request directly to our Master Schedule. Email, phone call or text message requests bare the risk to either not getting to us or heaven forbid, might slip when we are on the go and by the time we get back to the office.

2. Choose appropriately timed visits [30,45,60mins] for the needs of your pets. The length of visit depends on how many pets you have, how detailed your pet & house care routine is and if you would like for your pets to have some additional time for cuddle & play or more time for walks which is highly encouraged to not only ensure their physical care but also for your pet’s emotional well-being. Price difference is only $4/15min “upgrade” and visits can be mixed and matched.

3. Note your departure (day&) time and return (day&) time in the note sections of your requested visits (see schedule tab in your account) Your departure and return times are CRUCIAL to ensure seamless care and to allow us to consider visit times for start and end of service which make sense for your pets. Adding those notes take the guesswork out for us and eliminates the need to get this information from you before we can complete your request.

2.

4. Review your personal and well as all your pets’ profiles to ensure accuracy and make changes when anything in your home, personal data or pet routine changed. Please take a few minutes every so often to review your personal, your home’s and all of your pets’ profiles to ensure accurate and up- to-date information. Even just the tiniest change to your info may cost the sitter valuable time which can lead to [billed] overtime or less time for your pet.

4.5. Double check dates and times a last time once you receive our email confirmation for your booking. TIP: Once we accepted your request and take the booking on schedule, the visits turn green on your schedule online.

5.

6. Submit payment on or before the due date on your invoice. [before service start and for holiday bookings at time of booking to lock in dates] Invoice notices are send out via email and are then also viewable in your online account. In the event of overage visit time due to unforeseen circumstances or additional visits due to delayed returns or when we have not received return notice, the additional overage and visits will be billed additionally once service is completed.

Pet Food RevealedWhat’s Inside

more exactly just a by-product meal,…. the “real” chicken here is to be found way further down the line in spot #7 !!

Now, dogs and more so cats are predominantly carnivores, meat eaters!, so why in the world is there yellow corn as the main ingredient?!? Cheap filler could be assumed….

Chicken By-Product Meal: By-products consist of any parts of the animal OTHER then meat! They are less expensive [since not usable in human consumption] and less digestible.

According to the AAFCO [Association of American Feed Control Officials]: Chicken By-Product Meal consists of dry, ground, rendered, clean parts of the carcass of slaughtered chicken, such as necks, feet, undeveloped eggs, and intestines -- exclusive of feathers except in such amounts as might occur unavoidably in good processing practices.

Corn Gluten Meal: An inexpensive by-product of human food processing with little nutritional value

Propylene Glycol: a colorless, used in antifreeze, hydraulic fluids and as a solvent!Note: In countries of the European Union propylene glycol is not cleared as a food additive and as a matter of fact, just a couple of months ago, the product ‘Fireball Whiskey’ was recalled in some of those countries for propylene glycol in the ingredients.

Food coloring: Already very controversy in human foods and linked to allergies and ADHD, especially Blue 2 and Yellow 6 are suspected to cause brain, adrenal glands and kidney as studies suggest.

And this just reveals a couple of the ingredients !For more information, please read ‘Pet Food Revealed’ @EaseMyMindPetSitter.com
